RACHEL PLASKY ’25

I’m Rachel Plasky, an undecided first-year. Personally, I identify as a suppressed artist…I spent all of my free time in elementary school drawing, trying to achieve an ever-more realistic human, and generally art-making, but, as school became more demanding, my artistic journey fell by the wayside. I’d put my all into projects for art class or fulfill the occasional artistic whimsy, but it was no longer a sustained practice. Feeling like I’d given up a part of myself quietly ate away at me. Living on my own in college, however, art has slowly crept its way back into my life, serving as a healthy outlet when things got hard. While I’ve yet to dive in with my fullest self, this project, and “pieces” like a large, demonic doll taped to my door, show me I can at least be a…compressed artist.
