ME(TA)
This page is my attempt to create a portrait of myself using my metadata. I hesitate to introduce myself as I’m interested in the perception of me that the viewer may build after interacting with this page and my data.
To create this page, I tracked all of my digital communication (emails, texts, group messaging apps, zoom calls) and some associated metadata over a day in quarantine (8/31/2020) and have tried to represent it visually. If you’re curious about the actual code feel free to right click and poke around a bit with developer tools (view page source or inspect). It’s an attempt to bridge the disconnect between data collected about someone and the actual person behind that data. I’m also interested about the portrait’s accuracy and whether or not it comes close to creating a true representation of myself.
